Graduate Mechanical Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking for exceptional mechanical engineering graduates to join our successful, dynamic technical team.

We operate in multi-functional project teams and our mechanical engineers need to work closely with designers, electronics and software engineers and other skill teams to integrate the visual and functional aspects of a product.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • You will need a 1st or Upper 2nd degree in mechanical engineering from a university with a strong engineering reputation, or an equivalent broad based technical qualification.

  • You should be able to combine this academic excellence with a natural engineering intuition and a genuine interest in product development.  Direct experience in a product design and development environment is not essential, but relevant work experience and university design projects would be beneficial.

  • You must be a creative problem-solver, able to generate innovative solutions to engineering problems.

  • You will need to assimilate new information and learn new skills very quickly in a dynamic consultancy environment.

  • You will be expected to take responsibility for your technical design work, although experienced engineers will be happy to advise you and we have formal checking procedures in place.

  • You must be a good verbal and written communicator.

  • You will need to be enthusiastic, hardworking and proud of your work.

Junior Industrial Designer (f/m/d)

The Junior Industrial Designer is an entry-level role responsible for driving new product ideation, conceptualising and illustration that will set forth the future direction of Product Development. This is a key member of the team; this individual will be a part of the creative process collaborating to enhance existing products and bring innovative new products to market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and enhance designs that support the business plan, with a strong focus on delighting our customers

  • Sketch, model, prototype and storyboard concepts to communicate ideas

  • Define and develop the industrial design of new products by collaborating the product development and design team, external design partners, and other internal team members

  • Balance product appeal, customer functionality and manufacturability to create designs that drive the customer experience

  • Strong aesthetic sense and artistic skill

  • Contribute in productive brainstorming sessions and concept creation meetings

  • Participate in trend evaluations, early concept development and rapid experiments

  • Create critical design touch points and consumer experience narratives

  • Monitor projects during the concept and development phases

Internships.

We are looking for Industrial- and Interaction Design students, currently undertaking their Master degree, to join CURA DESIGN for an internship during fall 2020. The internship will help you boost your competence as a designer by being part of a wide range of challenging projects and being deeply involved in the entire design process. You’ll be a part of our committed team, working with global clients and exciting start-ups.

 

WHEN?

For Master level students:

We typically enroll interns twice per year, each for 6 months.

To apply for the fall internship, beginning in August 2020, send us your application before May 21st, 2020.

To apply for the spring internship, beginning in January 2020, send us your application before October 21st, 2020.

We also welcome students enrolled in Bachelor level degrees for a shorter period.
