OVERVIEW

SMART TECHNOLOGY, SOPHISTICATED DESIGN.

__

Katya is a robot vacuum cleaner created for the modern smart home—seamlessly integrating functionality, intelligent navigation, and elegant form. With premium materials and distinctive visual touches, it sets itself apart in a saturated market. From the patterned top surface to the chrome-accented lidar module, Katya is a product that doesn’t just perform well—it looks the part in every interior it inhabits. Its low profile glides under furniture with ease, while advanced sensors map spaces efficiently. The design enhances both usability and perception, blending into home environments like a lifestyle object rather than a gadget.

The robot vacuum cleaner market is crowded with products that look nearly identical. Our client approached us with a vision to create a more distinctive, elegant, and premium-feeling alternative that users would be proud to display rather than hide away.

We set out to rethink the visual language of smart appliances: how could we make this robotic cleaner as beautiful as it is functional?

DESIGN APPROACH

BEAUTY IN EVERY DETAIL.

__

Our design exploration began with material and finish experimentation. We aimed to elevate the top surface with a premium touch that wouldn’t compromise durability or usability.

Pattern Innovation via IML (In-Mold Lamination)

We designed a subtle, geometric cross-pattern that is embedded *behind* the top glass using the IML process. The top view reveals the intricate yet subtle patterning that plays with light. Real-life usage shots capture Katya maneuvering around furniture and cleaning debris, reinforcing both the beauty and practicality of the design. This protects the visual layer from wear while giving it depth and luxury.

Lidar Housing with Visual Hierarchy

The central lidar dome features a chrome ring that catches the light and accentuates the product’s symmetry. A debossed logo on top ties branding into form—sleek, minimal, and integrated.

Clean Geometry and Seamless Shell

We kept the body minimal with tight panel breaks and a seamless front bumper to create a monolithic aesthetic. Strategic openings allow for port access without visual clutter.

Low-Profile Navigation

Glides easily under beds, couches, and other furniture, thanks to compact proportions and precisely managed sensor layout.

Katya introduces a more human, lifestyle-driven approach to robotic vacuum cleaners. Early feedback from design reviewers and users praised its blend of subtle elegance and high-end performance. It successfully differentiates itself from utilitarian-looking competitors and elevates the category.
