You know the winter routine: as the weather cools down, the air dries up, and you’re left with chapped hands, lips, and even nose bleeds. The solution? A humidifier – a device that emits water vapor to restore moisture to the air, and alleviate the discomfort caused by dryness.

However, while humidifiers may provide relief, they’re often not the most aesthetically pleasing objects to have in your home.

At CURA DESIGN, we set out to tackle this challenge with Umida – a humidifier that not only serves its purpose but looks good doing it. We approached the design process with a user-centered mindset, aiming to create a product with a sleek and elegant body shape, and refined details on the interaction points.

Our team of designers carefully considered the placement of the user interface on the Umida Humidifier. We strategically positioned it on the upper portion of the product, where it is easily accessible and intuitive to use. The interface is designed to blend seamlessly into the overall aesthetic of the humidifier, with a balance of matte and glossy finishes that add a touch of elegance and sophistication.

The Umida Humidifier is a true fusion of design and technology, featuring cutting-edge features that work in harmony with its sleek and stylish design. With its advanced humidifying technology, it restores moisture to the air while also providing a pleasant and comfortable experience for the user. Our design process for the Umida Humidifier was thorough and meticulous. We began by creating numerous 2D sketches, exploring different shapes and styles until we arrived at a design that captured the essence of what we were aiming for. We then moved on to 3D models, using advanced software to create detailed renderings of the product.

Through this iterative process, we tested and refined the design until it was just right. We paid close attention to every detail, from the shape and size of the humidifier to the placement of the user interface and the balance of matte and glossy finishes. Our goal was to create a product that was not only effective at humidifying the air, but also visually stunning and a pleasure to use.
